Permanent advisory and opinion-making bodies supporting the President are:
- College,
- Program Commission - in respect of statistical research programming,
- Methodological Commission - in respect of methodology of statistics research,
- Editorial Committee – in respect of statistical information dissemination and distribution system, and publishing activities,
- Scientific Statistical Council.
College
The College considers projects of strategies, programmes and plans, as well as other matters relevant to official statistics.
It consists of:
- the President of Statistics Poland,
- vice-presidents,
- the Civil Service Director,
- department directors and deputy directors of Statistics Poland,
- the Chief Accountant of the Department,
- directors of units subordinated to President of Statistics Poland.
The meetings of the College are convened by the President of Statistics Poland.
From the meetings are made notes, which contains arrangements and orders issued by the President of Statistics Poland.
Program Commission
The Program Commission is responsible for determining the drafts of annual programmes of statistical surveys of official statistics.
The scope of responsibility of the Commission includes without limitation:

preparing the proposals of annual programmes of statistical surveys of official statistics,
-
consolidating draft annual programmes of statistical surveys of official statistics with consideration of the needs to further conduct the surveys which are indispensable for continuous observation of major areas of socioeconomic life and phenomena occurring in it,
-
considering the standpoints (responses) of the author with respect to the proposals, postulates, conclusions and other comments provided by the opinion-making bodies with respect to the draft programme,
-
recognising new areas of statistical surveys which should become the subject of statistical observation, or the scope of topics of the heretofore surveys should be extended,
-
co-operating with the Scientific Statistical Council in the scope of survey quality,
-
co-operating with the Methodological Commission, in particular in the scope of implementation of new or considerably changed statistical surveys.
The Commission works:
- in plenary sessions with full composition,
- at meetings in standing task teams, whose members are appointed by the Chairman.
- by correspondence exchange of positions (by circulation).
Methodological Commission
The Methodological Commission is responsible for the upgrade of methodology of statistical surveys in order to raise the quality of statistical information, through evaluating the existing statistical methods, and initiating new methodological solutions and scientific research, associated with methodology of statistical surveys.
The scope of responsibility of the Commission includes without limitation:

recognising methodological problems associated with the development of the official statistics system from the programme-related, organizational and technological point of view,
-
preparing an overview programme of methodology of statistical surveys, classification standards and registers, as well as successive opinion-making concerning methodology of individual areas of statistical surveys,
-
formulating methodological research proposals to a long-term programme of statistical survey of official statistics,
-
opinion-making concerning methodological solutions and changes in statistical surveys being conducted, in particular in the light of internal needs and international obligations,
-
opinion-making and accepting methodology of new statistical surveys,
-
inspiring scientific work and research over the statistical survey methods,
-
evaluating and accepting documentation schemes of methodology of statistical surveys and methodological instruction projects for the authors of surveys,
-
providing opinions on methodological reports on particular fields of statistical surveys of official statistics.
The Commission works:
- in plenary sessions,
- by preparing opinions, reviews and expert opinions;
- by correspondence exchange of information.
Editorial Committee

issues opinions on premises for development of statistical information dissemination and distribution system, including use of information technology,
-
issues opinions on project of official statistics statistical research programme, in it's part pertaining to publishing activities,
-
makes annual analysis of editorial and publishing statistical activities and formulates conclusions and recommendations in this respect,
-
issues opinions on assumptions and detailed conceptions for selected major publications of Statistics Poland, according to arrangements made in the editorial plan, and all extraordinary publications,
-
examines other issues connected with functioning of dissemination and distribution of statistical information system, as reported by official statistics units.
The Committee works:
- by examining documents provided by responsible units,
- by examining opinions of it's members and appointing reviewers,
- by discussing, making opinions and proposals presented at Committee meetings,
- by making opinions and proposals reported by circulation.
Editorial Committee can appoint working teams to prepare or assess solutions proposals of more complex projects.
Scientific Statistical Council
The Council issues opinions and recommendations for methodological works aimed at refinement of the statistical research system.
Members of the Council are appointed by the President of Statistics Poland from representatives of science, in particular of statistics and related disciplines.
Meetings of the Council take place at least twice a year.
The Council’s term of office lasts 4 years.
The Council expresses it's viewpoint in form of opinions, conclusions, expert opinions and reviews.
